It is our job to see that the images of your family are displayed as heirlooms that can be passed down to future generations. That is why we provide an exclusive portrait experience from start to finish with the final result being the installation of custom artwork that compliments your home.

Welcome to Sara Dawson Photography! I am so excited that you landed here on my website. I’m Sara, a Southbury resident of 5 years and now local business owner. I am absolutely thrilled to be opening my studio on Main Street South right next to the famous Laurel’s diner! (have your had their hash?!) I have been a photographer for the past ten years starting my business in Texas while I was teaching at the local high school. (yep, nobody guesses I was a physics teacher) My love for my students naturally turned into a love for photographing them during one of the happiest times in their life, senior year! After moving to Connecticut and having three children of my own I found that I had a new found and growing love for photographing babies, children & the connections within a family. My main goals as your photographer is to: 1. Capture who you are in this moment in your life 2. Make you feel comfortable in front of the camera 3. Get your photos on your walls…(wait, what?)…..and I’m not talking about your Facebook wall. I am very passionate about filling your home with beautiful art of your family, your story, your milestones. No more empty walls my friends! I even have someone who will come to your house to install each piece! (do a happy dance) When I’m not behind the camera you can find me in town at LMES, MMS, Settler’s Park soccer/lacrosse fields, Kinetic Kids Gymnastics, Noah’s Ark Swim School, roaming the aisles of Home Goods, waiting for my southwestern chicken salad the The Local Gourmet or working up a sweat at Erika’s amazing Strong class at Catalyst. So I’m guessing we’ve probably crossed paths at one point or another. If you ever see my cool tan minivan parked outside the studio please don’t hesitate to stop in and introduce yourself and we’ll find the perfect time to capture your story.
